MEMIC’s Summer Internship Program identifies college students who want real-world experience that will allow them to gain valuable knowledge and skills within their field of study. This is a paid internship that can also be credited towards the student’s degree. The program will last 11 weeks, beginning on June 7th and ending on August 20th. This opportunity will be full-time (37.5 hours per week).
The IT Project Management Office Intern will gain practical experience with many different aspects of project management, systems development and process management within an IT organization. The Intern will assist the Director, PMO, Project Managers and Business Analysts with process documentation for specific functions and projects. By the end of the internship, the student will have a broad knowledge of IT Project Management functions, the Project Management Life Cycle and Systems Development Life Cycle. The individual will need strong written and verbal communications skills in order to document current state processes and help develop updated versions of key project management documents and process documents.
The Project Manager / Product Owner serves as a critical bridge between our technical development team and our business teams. The role will be responsible for both product and project work. The PM / PO must understand the needs of multiple stakeholders, facilitate the negotiation of requirement prioritization amongst these stakeholders, identify current- and future-state business processes, create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications, facilitate design sessions with project teams to define solutions, and deliver elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, and/or other detailed specifications to the technical team. This unique role will coordinate people and processes to ensure that systems functionality is delivered on time and produces the desired results.
