Project Management in Construction
with Travis Kirby and Evan Glassman of Consigli Construction
Travis will speak about the day-to-day life of a Project Manager in the construction industry. He'll cover some of the unique facets - and challenges - that face PM's regularly. Evan, a VDC Manager at Consigli, will spend some time talking about the technological tools his company uses on the job, both software and hardware, in order to increase efficiency.
Travis Kirby grew up in Denver, CO, and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Construction Management in 2008. He worked as an estimator for a military contractor building commissaries and barracks around the country, then was presented an opportunity to travel overseas, where he worked in Kabul, Afghanistan for 2 years building facilities for both American and Afghan military units. He found his way to Maine through an assignment working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, refurbishing an outdated submarine dry dock into a machine warehouse. He fell in love with Maine, and decided to stay permanently, working with Consigli Construction. Now with 8 years working in Maine, he has built the largest parking garage in the state, a performance recital hall, a college business center, and now a hospital. He's extremely proud of the work he does and all of the people that it serves in the community. He is happy to live in Maine with his new wife, and build a future.
Evan Glassman, Senior Virtual Design in Construction Management, brings nearly 10 years of experience within the fields of architecture, technology, and engineering to his current role at Consigli Construction. After receiving his Master's in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Evan fast-tracked his professional experience by holding various roles within large notable Architecture firms in the greater Boston region, focusing on leading edge technology, 3D modelling, detailing, and coordination. At Consigli, he continues to expand upon his technical expertise in his current role, which focuses on the integration of a wide variety of technological services within real-time construction.
