Agile approaches seem to be everywhere. Yet, not all projects need an agile approach. Add in the general misinformation about what “agile” is, and we have a recipe for disaster. Instead of declaring “agile” is right for everyone, we’ll explore what an agile approach might be, your other lifecycle alternatives, and how to create your successful agile project. We’ll then use lean coffee to discuss the issues at greater length.
8 priniciples that every successful remote team must have!
We’re all distributed now—and likely to stay that way for a while. If your team isn’t quite succeeding the way you know it could, you might be missing one of the eight principles of successful distributed teams. Once you learn the eight principles, you might only need to take small steps to succeed. Or, you’ll learn you might need to change something more basic about your team or workgroup.
Johanna Rothman, known as the “Pragmatic Manager,” offers frank advice for your tough problems. She helps leaders and teams do reasonable things that work. Equipped with that knowledge, they can then decide how to adapt their product development.
With her trademark practicality and humor, Johanna is the author of 18 books about many aspects of product development. Her most recent books are the Modern Management Made Easy series, From Chaos to Successful Distributed Agile Teams (with Mark Kilby) and Create Your Successful Agile Project: Collaborate, Measure, Estimate, Deliver.
