Here at PMI Maine we are committed to offer opportunities and resources that meet your evolving needs throughout your professional careers. Our events have provided a wide range of career development offerings throughout the year that include networking, eight programs and at least one professional development day.
What makes the 2018 different? We are tailoring our programs to be more member-centric as we more closely align with the new Project Management Institute's (PMI) Strategic Direction. To this end, we are mixing it up a bit. Our member meetings will include socials, interactive speakers, informal group discussions and workshops on topics important to you. Additional items we added to meetings include fun door prizes, with photos and a description of prizes won then posted on the website. Pictures of meetings will also be available soon. November will find us in Augusta for a member meeting, as we begin to deliver on our commitment to expand our service area to provide members opportunities closer to home. We are investigating the best and most stable way to offer participation in virtual meetings so there are no geographical limitations. We are also expanding and our social media presence.
Member recognition and engagement is also changing a bit. We have reinstituted welcome emails to new members, thank you emails to renewing members and congratulatory emails to those that achieve their certifications. We are continuing with meeting evaluations, so we can learn how you feel we did and what else you would like to see. We have started an exciting program that gives our members an opportunity to engage with us. What a wonderful chance to learn new skills, hone the skills you have and meet new people! There is no time commitment for most opportunities. It can be as little as 15 – 30 minutes! For those of you needing PDUs, you can claim 1/4 of a PDU for each 15 minutes of engagement. We need your help and feedback to make this YOUR chapter and the best it can be.
Please tell you coworkers and friends about PMI Maine. I encourage you to invite them to a meeting. Anyone may attend and benefit from the information we share. We would love to meet them and see more of you too!
Thank you for participating with us. It has been fun getting to know you a bit more at the meetings. I hope that you are learning more about the Chapter and the Board members too. Have a terrific summer!
